This sweet Spanish type is a long day onion for northern growers. It has a hard body, with well developed storage skins, a round shape and slight shoulders. A little bit smaller than some Spanish onions, but distinctly sweet, and perfect for caramelizing or French onion soup. Allow the whole onion plant to dry in the fall until no more green is showing. Then trim the roots and cut the neck about 2cm (1") up the stem. Store in a cool, dark place.
